Geocache Description:

Beinn a’ Ghlò (the Hill of the Veil or Mist) is more a range of hills than a single peak, and has three Munro summits giving a strenuous days walking. Although the summits are rounded, they have steep flanks and the sculpted form of this great massif, makes for a memorable experience.
This is one of four Geocaches on Beinn a’ Ghlò.

Carn nan Gabhar Trig point

Carn nan Gabhar summit cairn

Carn nan Gabhar big pink boulder

Càrn nan Gabhar (the Hill / Cairn of the Goats) is the highest and remotest summit of the Beinn a’ Ghlò range. Càrn nan Gabhar’s highest point is not actually at the trig point, it is at a cairn 200 metres north east with a height of 1129 metres (nine metres more than the trig point).
It offers views across the empty wilderness of the Mounth range on the southern edge of Strathdee and makes a fine termination to a great ridge-walk before heading back to Loch Moraig.
