A la limite entre Narbonne plage et Saint Pierre la mer, face au port et à la mer se trouve un monument qui rend hommage à Pierre Brossolette. Il s’agit d’un monument qui était constitué de cinq tuyaux d’orgue en cuivre et faisaient parait-il entendre, par vent dominant, les premières notes de la symphonie de Beethoven. Suite à du vandalisme, ils ont été remplacés en 2013 par des tuyaux d’orgue en zinc.
Pierre Brossolette (1903/1944) était un journaliste et homme politique français, considéré comme le bras droit du Général De Gaulle, il fut un des principaux dirigeants de la Résistance française. En 2015, ses cendres ont été transférées au Panthéon. Vous en saurez un peu plus à son sujet, en lisant ce qui est gravé sur la stèle.
La vue depuis le rocher où est situé ce mémorial permet de distinguer : le massif de la clape, les étangs, le canal, le port, la plage, et parfois même lorsqu’il fait beau les Pyrénées au loin.
L’intérêt de cette cache, comme vous l’aurez compris est donc de découvrir ce monument (l’orgue, la stèle ainsi que la tourelle et le bunker d’observation) et d’admirer la vue panoramique. D’ailleurs n’hésitez pas à ajouter une photo à vos logs (merci d’éviter les spoilers).
Les coordonnées gps indiquent le parking situé près de la cache (Il y a un crayon dans la boite.), pour la trouver il suffit de répondre aux questions en vous rendant sur le rocher où se trouve l’orgue en hommage à Brossolette :
A= 3+ Nombre de grottes bouchées qui servaient d’accès au bunker d’observation
B= S’il y a 4 bancs marrons, dont un très bas, alors B = 5
S’il y a actuellement 3 grands bancs bleus, alors B = 3

C= L’année de son décès – l’année de son embarquement à partir de ce port en direction de l’Angleterre
D= 800 + nombre de marches permettant de contourner l’orgue

Right between “Narbonne Plage” and “Saint Pierre la Mer”, facing the sea and the small harbor, you can find a monument which honors Pierre Brossolette. This monument was originally made of 5 Copper organ pipes which, as far as we know, played by prevailing wind the first music notes of Beethoven Symphony. Because of vandalism, these pipes were replaced in 2013 with new Zinc organ pipes.
Pierre Brossolette (1903/1944) was a famous journalist and a French politician. He was seen as the right-hand man of General De Gaulle and he was one of the main leader and hero in French Resistance. In 2015, his ashes were transferred to the Pantheon. You can learn more about him by reading what is written on the headstone.
From the rock where is placed this memorial, you can see the “Massif de la Clape”, some ponds, the canal, the harbor, the beach and even the “Pyrénées” far at the west when the weather is good.
The interest of such a cache, as you have already understood, is to discover this monument (the organ, the headstone but also the turret and the observation bunker) and to admire the panoramic view from there. Do not hesitate to add pictures to illustrate your logs and share your experience (Please, try to avoid to post spoilers).
GPS coordinates indicate the parking which is very close to the cache (There is a pencil in the box). To find the box, you just have to answer the following questions thanks to the hints and clues you will find by going to the rock where is located the organ in memory of Brossolette:
A = 3 + Number of clogged caves which were used to access the observation bunker
B = If there are 4 brown benches with one which is very low, then B = 5
If there are now 3 big blue benches then B = 3
If there is 1 brown bench and 2 blue benches, then B = 8
C= Brossolette’s Death date - The year when he boarded from this harbor to reach England.
D= 800 + Number of steps (the stairs) to get around the organ.
Then final coordinates of the cache are N43°10.CBA E3°10.D.
