La cache est située à La Tour-d'Auvergne qui se trouve sur le versant ouest du massif du Sancy, à une altitude moyenne de mille mètres. C’est un village très ancien qui trouve ses fondations sur un piton basaltique, vestige d'une coulée volcanique du grand volcan qu'était le massif du Sancy il y a plus de deux cent cinquante mille ans. Au temps des Romains, il est dit qu'une tour de garde avait été érigée là pour prévenir des incursions ennemies. L'évocation de cette tour donnera son nom au village. After visiting several caches in the area, this is our contribution the discovery of this beautiful region, good ballad to all of you. The cache is located in La Tour d'Auvergne which is on the western slope of the Sancy Mountains, at an average altitude of one thousand meters.
