Go ahead and escape the Caribbean heat with a plunge in the pool of this once beautiful holiday destination (there's no water in the pool, so don't take this literally). Stay cool, but don't get "Frozen"...
We're not quite sure when and why this hotel shut down its doors as it's difficult to find information about it, but we've been told the hotel closed down back in 1997. We were also told the hotel used to be named 'Barbizon', but we're not sure about that either. If anyone has any additional information, please share this with us as we're curious to find out more about this mysterious place.
The site is easily to spot from the main road, but there are no signs. You could however follow the signs that read Bon Bini Seaside Resort which is a resort that is located across from the abandoned hotel. The Bon Bini Seaside Resort is still in business. There are little to no muggles around when you get closer to the cache.
The cache is located in a see-through container with a blue lid. It was placed here during our visit to Curaçao, and will be maintained by our daughter who lives on the island. We're hoping to be back here soon to complete some more caches and to see how our cache is doing. Have fun!
PS: We've placed Nafl. 5,- in the container for the first person to find the cache. Good luck! ;-)
A few tips:
- BYOP! Pens dry out fast here, so make sure to bring a pen to sign the log.
- You cannot drive all the way up to the cache, make sure you don't leave valuables in the car while you're out searching.
- You can easily walk to the cache on your flip-flops, but watch out for broken glass (inside the hotel), thorns and overhanging branches.
- Don't forget to wear sunscreen.
