Le Belvédère à la sortie Ouest du village offre une vue imprenable sur les collines du Beaujolais, les Monts du Lyonnais, La Dombes, Le Bugey, avec en toile de fond la chaîne des Alpes.
750 habitants, dont de nombreux vignerons vivent sur 696 hectares, à une altitude variant de 278 à 625 mètres. En effet, si sur les hauteurs, les bois dominent, la vigne occupe 360 hectares en zone inférieure. 360 hectares répartis en deux appellations: Beaujolais Villages et Brouilly qui font vivre une cinquantaine d'exploitants.

Situated in the first foothills of the Mounts of Beaujolais, halfway between historic capital of Beaujolais (Beaujeu) and economic (Villefranche), Saint Etienne la Varenne dominates the valley of the Saône dozens of kilometers.
The Belvedere at the exit the West of the village offers a fantastic view over the hills of Beaujolais, the Mounts of Lyonnais, Dombes, Bugey, with in the background the chain of the Alps.
750 inhabitants, on whom numerous wine growers live on 696 hectares, at a height varying from 278 to 625 meters. Indeed, if on the heights, wood dominate, the vineyard occupies 360 hectares in lower zone. 360 hectares distributed in two naming: Beaujolais Villages and Brouilly who make about fifty developers live.
