Placed a short walk away from the church of this name.
St George's Church was opened in 1938 as a Daughter Church of Holy Trinity Church to help to serve the new population in the town of Folkestone between the two World Wars. It has been extended twice, once in 1968 and again in 1982 to cope with further growth of the local population. It gained independence from Holy Trinity Church in 1990 when it became a separate parish in its own right, although it continues to be a part of the Holy Trinity Benefice. In 2013 it celebrated 75 years of ministry. St George's is still an active place of worship and regular services are held on the site.
