A while back I was supposed to meet a friend here, but he was in Reeves Road while I was waiting impatiently at the end of Reeves Street. Where once there were plans for a road linking the two, and the maps certainly show a road corridor here, there's instead a walking track, which I went exploring while waiting. Not far in I came across a truly spectacular set of high-rise caves in a large sandstone outcrop. Caves that were just crying out for a cache .
You can only reach GZ from Reeves Street in Narara as the Somersby end of the track now has a chain across it with a Private Property sign. GPS reception isn't crash hot once you get into the caves, though, and there are oodles of potential hiding places, so I'll give you a bit of a hint. I have a wonky sense of balance and avoid climbing in places where I could easily fall and do some serious damage, so it's not in the top cave. Don't even think about it or you'll give me nightmares! Put yourself in my shoes, err, bare feet, and consider where I might have hidden it. A smiley's not worth a trip to the hospital or the morgue.
Take plenty of photos, as this is a very picturesque spot, but for that very reason make sure to rehide the cache well back from muggle eyes, for I'm sure this location is attractive to them too.
The cache's inner container is about 200ml so won't hold much more than the log, pencil and small TBs or geocoins.
Footnote: It now seems both ends are actually called Reeves Street, although at the time I created this cache, Google maps was showing the Somersby end as Reeves Road, and curiously the street sign at the intersection with Debenham Road in Somersby says Reeves Road while the nearby M1 overpass calls it Reeves Street. Confusion reigns supreme.
Footnote's footnote: The sign at Debenham Road has now also been changed to Reeves Street, so Reeves Road is no more.
