Tollesbury Congregational Church was started over 200 years ago in 1803. At that time it was felt that the Parish Church was not providing a sufficient witness to the life transforming Christian Gospel and so a group of villagers started to meet for public preaching and worship.
TCC's historic claim to fame is John Spurgeon, the father of the famous victorian preacher Charles Hatton Spurgeon was pastor here 1850-63.
