This cache is located near the Hathorn Playground, which is named after one of the park's celebrated mineral springs. During the 1930's a "New Spa" complex was constructed in Saratoga Spa State Park, which included the Bottling Plant. From 1935-1970, three types of mineral waters were bottled there from the Hathorn, Geyser and Coesa Springs.
