Our present Victorian church may be relatively recent, but there was probably a church on this site as early as the 12th century. The church was first mentioned in the Taxation of 1250 and the first recorded Rector was in 1272. There is a grave and memorial stone for Hester Woodley, a West Indian slave to the Woodley Family. Little Parndon Manor which used to face the church was owned by William Smith, Grandfather to Florence Nightingale
Look for a small camoflauged plastic container which contains a few swaps. It is outside the church grounds.

If anybody would like to expand this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first at churchmicro@gmail.com so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
There is also a Church Micro Stats & Information page found via the Bookmark list”
