A house and garden occupied by Micaiah West was licensed for Baptist worhip in 1820. The chapel is built of coursed rubble with a rendered gable front and pointed arch windows. It opened in 1823 and a schoolroom was built in 1843.
The interior was refittted and the windows altered in 1889. Open air baptisms took place in the 19th century. the chapel at Nettleton remains open and has a very pleasant and tidy graveyard.
