Geocache Description:

In Memory of USMC Sgt. Mike Frayn, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Avid Scuba Diver.

Located 110' below sea level on the wreck of the Odyssey off the west side of the Island of Roatan, Honduras. It is an Ammo can located on the stern of the ship on the port side its chained to a pipe inside on the forth deck.  The wreck has been cleaned up and has large egress and exit holes. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO COLLECT THIS CACHE WITH OUT PROPER TRAINING

Odyssey- The Odyssey was a cargo ship that measured 300ft, and was sunk in 2002 to create a base on which the reef could grow and to give divers an opportunity to explore this enormous structure underwater.

The ship sits on the sand at 110ft.  Its Stern reaches up to a height of 60ft and is inclined 30 degrees toward its starboard side.  Outside the stern are marine stairs that connect its various levels and on its handrails you can fund a huge quantity of hydroids that find this the ideal place to grow.

The central part of the ship lays flat at 100ft.  While you are exploring make sure to keep an eye out for the green moray eel that may be hiding out in numerous holes of the ship walls and deck.  The bow of the ship is also slanted toward its starboard side at an angle of almost 90 degrees.  With its highest point at 70ft a diver can look on this area for encrested atlantic thomy oyster.  The great barracuda and the blue parrotfish are a common sight on this area as well.

A special Thank you to Eric White the owner of Blue Island Divers, For helping place the Geocache on the Wreck.  Blue Island Divers are actually the closest Dive Boat Operator to the Odyssey Wreck. They are located in Sandy Bay and only a couple thousand feet from the wreck.

*****UPDATE. June 30th 2018**** This was a Ammo Can. It was filled with Sgt. Frayns dive gear. I believe a storm or time has taken the box. With the salt water a ammo can only last a couple years underwater. I hope to get back down to Roatan soon and replace the can. Right now we only have a Slate in its place. Please sign the slate and enjoy the amazing wreck. Happy Diving:) PADI Instructor Chris Hill
