This little lane always has a special feel about it. It has high banks on both sides, and a lot of erosion of the soil has exposed the roots of trees, which are very interesting to see. Some seem to have hardly any soil left to cling to. It is all very delicate, and makes lots of nook and crannies for critters.
We have hidden a small cache here, easy to find from the road without disturbing anything, with room for some small swaps. Please replace securely. Please do not climb up the banks or trees as they are very fragile and not very stable.
This is a single track road and usually fairly quiet, but please be aware of vehicles especially if you have geokids/hounds.
There is no suitable parking here, no problem for walkers/cyclists, but if you are in a car we would suggest that perhaps you do our CM at Calthorpe Church, leave the car there and take a short walk to this one. You will need to walk along a bit further to see all the lovely trees. .
