A little History
Christ Church, erected in 1863, at a cost of £3,000 is a building of stone in the Early English style, consisting of chancel, nave, aisles, organ chamber and vestries. The chancel, organ chambers and vestries were added in 1904 at a cost of about £2,000. The church affords 350 sittings. The register dates from the year 1864. The living is a vicarage, net yearly value £220, with residence, in the gift of the Rector of Kirkheaton, and held since 1907 by the Rev. William Railton M.A. of Hatfield Hall, Durham
