Ežerą mėgsta nardymo entuziastai. Ežero dugne yra aptikos Bronzos amžiaus polinės gyvenvietės liekanos. Luokesų ežeras yra įtrauktas į Europos unikalių archeologijos paminklų sąrašą.

(EN) Rest stop is located on the road Utena - Vilnius, on the beach of Luokesai lake. Luokesai is located to the south from Moletai town. It distinguishes with its clear water, beautiful environment and quietness, thus local inhabitants and Molėtai city guests like the resort created here a lot. However, the lake is even more beloved by underwater archeologists nowadays as the Luokesai lake was revealed to hide the entire settlements from Stone and Bronze Ages at its deep bottom. In recent years the Luokesai lake was included into the list of unique European archeological monuments.
