When the Tidbinbilla road first came by this way, it curved to the south, and crossed Paddys River about 120m upstream to where it does now. Back then it was not possible to cross when the river was flooded. This old part of the road has long been closed off, and the new bridge to the north is a much easier way to cross. Albeit probably not as much fun!
