Brief Historic background:
In 813 AD Centumcellae (Civitavecchia's latin name, literally meaning ''one hundred coves/gulfs'' after the jagged coastline) was attacked by saracen pirates, who repeatedly pillaged the town forcing our ancestors out of the village, and subsequently invading it 846-876 AD. The pope, Leone IV, provided a brand new location for the small population to live, nearby Tolfa mounts, in 854 AD. Legend states that, years later, the population reunited to decide wether going back to the old Centumcellae located on the seaside or staying there nearby Tolfa mounts, in the new Centumcellae. An old sailor named Leandro, born and raised in the old Centumcellae, passionately convinced the population to re establish themselves in the older village, renaming it ''Civitas Vetula'' which in latin means, guess what, Città Vecchia (Old City). This legend is so radicated in our background that even if there is no historical evidence of it, a lot of Civitavecchia inhabitants believe it to be true, and in our city symbol you can see the letters O.C. as for ''Ottimo Consiglio'' ( ''Optimum Advice'') given by the old Leandro to his fellow citizens.
This cache will bring you to one of the very few places where you can see the high middle age walls of Centumcellae.
Cache is very small, more or less the size of a roll film, well hidden at ground level. Contains some very small trinkets. Beware of muggles (specially youngsters hanging there every now and then). Byop.
