It's that time of year in which the Geocachers of NEI-GEO give back to the communities that we love and that tolerate our hobby!
This year's NEI-GEO CITO event puts us back at the Lindenwood Nature Preserve in Fort Wayne, Indiana right by St. Francis College on April 26. The coordinates above will take you to the parking lot of the nature preserve. This event is being planned and run with cooperation from Amy Hicks of the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation.
So what are we going to do? Well, a little bit of everything!:
*Removing large trees from the trails.
*Picking up debris.
*Help out with pruning in some areas.
*General trash pickup along the trails.
*Removing the evil garlic mustard plant!
What can you do to help?
1. SHOW UP!
2. Bring work gloves.
3. Bring a rake and/or pruning shears.
4. Bug spray might be a good thing to have.
5. Safety glasses might come in handy as well.
6. Enjoy the satisfaction you get for giving back to the community we all live, work and/or play in!
Schedule:
This is tentative right now and subject to change... a lot!
2:00 - Meet at the preserve ready to work!
2:10 - Start working!
5:00 (or if we finish early) - Call it quits and roast some hotdogs over a bonfire.
6:00 - Finish up and head home!
FINAL NOTES:
Please do not show up before 2:00. The parking lot gate will be locked and you will not be able to get in!
Come prepared to get dirty!
Please let me know how many people are coming in your group. The Parks Department wants to make sure they have enough things to keep us all occupied!
