O miejscu:
Nadziemny schron przeciwlotniczy T-750 (Truppenmannschaftsbunker-750) wybudowany w latach 1942-1943 dla ochrony załóg okrętów niemieckiej marynarki wojennej (Kriegsmarine) stacjonujących w Gdyni. Zapewniał ochrone dla ponad 750 osób.
Wnętrze składa się z 3 kondygnacji, grubość ścian wynosi 2,5 metra. Strop ma grubość 3,75 m i zapewniał ochronę w przypadku bezpośredniego trafienia bombą o wadze 1000 kg.
Jest to jedyny w Europie schronu tego typu, który od czasów wojny pozostaje w gotowosci eksploatacyjnej. Schron jest wyposażony we własne ujęcie wody, generatory prądu, salę sztabową, pomieszczenie łacznosci, kotłownię oraz urzadzania filtrowo-wentylacyjne.
Obiekt był modernizowany w latach 80 oraz współczesnie. W ostatnich latach zainstalowano m.in. nowe natryski i sanitariaty.
W latach 60 w schronie przy ul. Polskiej przygotowano Stanowisko Kierowania Obrony Cywilnej Portu Gdynia i taka funkcje spełnia do dzis. Obecnie służy również jako strzelnica sportowa.

Above-ground air raid shelter T-750 (Truppenmannschaftsbunker-750) built in 1942-1943 to protect the crews of the German Navy ships stationed in Gdynia during WWII. Provide protection to more than 750 people.
The interior consists of 3 floors, the wall thickness is 2.5 meters. The roof has a thickness of 3.75 assured me protection in case of a direct hit a bomb weighing 1000 kg.
It is the only shelter in Europe of this type, which since the war remains operational readiness. The shelter is equipped with its own water supply, generators for electricity, headquaters room, communications room, boiler rooms and fitering and ventilation units.
The property was modernized in the 80's and today. In recent years installed include new showers and toilets.
In the 60's in the shelter at Polska Street prepared Management Positionof of Civil Defence of the Port of Gdynia - this function fulfills to this day. Currently also serves as a shooting range.
