Over 12 years ago I had hidden a cache here - GC9AC6 - my eighth hide! Alas, it only had two finders, before the whole area was totally burned out by the 2003 bushfires. This was rather sad, as I really loved it down here. There was an old arboretum with all sorts of mature trees. It was wonderful.
Anyway, I came back today, and note that the regrowth is amazing. Not only that, but at least one of the original trees, have come back! The Trembling Aspen! This makes sense, as Aspens are vigorous resprouters and even though the tree may die in a bushfire, the roots, will sprout new trees soon after a fire.
I also note that the old track through here is still sort of there. Mind you, the little log bridge is completely gone. So, all in all, not as nice as it was, but still a lovely spot!
