Thursday evening, August 20. A gentle event towards the end of the week, no dashing around this evening. Just a chance to relax and have a chat, exchanging notes on what you've done/where you've been. There will be a quiz, nothing too serious, Mensa membership not required! Sit around in the bar, (children welcome), or have a stroll around the harbour area to claim the "No More Spuds and Herring" cache. There is a catch though, this is a 'Faith Supper', also known as a 'Bring a Plate Supper', the idea being everyone brings a plate of food sufficient for two or three people. Obviously it will be much easier for the locals to provide cut sandwiches etc, visitors may find it more convenient to visit a supermarket/bakery for pies/pasty/sausage rolls. Please liaise with Caaghyr's Crew if you have any definite ideas of what you can bring.
The club is licenced, the bar will be open for us, bringing your own drinks will be frowned-on, so please don't. Tea and coffee will be available, as well as the usual soft drinks.
NUMBERS ARE LIMITED, up to 100, please advise the number in your team when placing a 'Will Attend' log, first in get the tickets! I'll be there from 7-pm, event starts 7-30pm, event nominally finishes 10pm, but we won't be throwing anybody out until 23-15.
The attribute icon says no dogs, that applies only inside the lounge/bar area, dogs are welcome on the outside balcony, we can provide water as necessary. The club faces east, so there will be shade for any that are feeling the heat, canines or humans!
Although this event is rated 1.5 terrain, so not easily wheelchair accessable, there is a stairlift in the clubhouse, if it is necessary to bring a wheelchair upstairs put a note in your "will attend" log and we will carry it upstairs as necessary.
There are 9 events during the week and all the details can be found here.
