I have just returned home after spending a week in the Bay area finding mostly puzzle caches, some of which I had solved years ago. Since I live in an area that is nowhere near as puzzle-rich as it is around here, I enjoy solving puzzles long-distance with no real expectation of ever being able to make the finds. Making some finds out here (and meeting many of the CO's of those puzzles) has really been the icing on the cake.

Some people don't understand why anyone would take the trouble to solve puzzles for caches they may never have any chance of finding. For me, the hunt for the numbers that will lead to a cache can be just as fun as finding the caches themselves. When I've spent hours (or days or even weeks) looking high and low for a solution, seeing those wondrous numbers appear is really exciting.
