Some of you have wondered where my alias 'quigquay' came from, since it's such an unusual word, and has nothing to do with my real name. Two cachers have actually guessed the source without any help, but that insight is rare.
As an English major in college, I read a lot of books. Most I loved, some were mediocre, and a few were downright abyssmal. But overall I loved the interplay of words, which carries forward today into the types of puzzles that are my favorite to create and solve.
There was one well-known book that I just couldn't get interested in. I was so disinterested that every time it was discussed I would tune out and make up fairly juvenile jokes at its expense in my head, just to pass the time. Often these 'jokes' involved changing character names to make them more amusing, or downright rude.
To solve this puzzle, your task is to figure out the name of the character that caught my attention and inspired my alias. Once you have that character name, you will know the book title. For the checker you will need the last name of another fictional character who also used this character's name as an email handle.
You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
