Geocache Description:

I wanted to add a few more churches to the series in Winchester and this one seemed like a prime example due to its interesting history.

The church itself is new, compared to some of the others in Winchester, however a part of the church predates the current building as one of the doorways was brought from another older site in Winchester:

History of the Door:

The original site of the door from Mary Magdalen was erected in 1148 and demolished in 1772, originally a leper hospital, it later became an almshouse

'In 1788 the then Master applied to Bishop Brownlow North for a commission to consider the state of the old hospital buildings on the east road from Winchester, The commission made a survey and declared them to be in a ruinous state and "it was judged expedient that the whole should be taken down". This was in June of that year.. .. .An artist. Mr. J. Schnebbelie. hastened that summer to make sketches of the doomed hospital before the builders to whom the materials were sold began their work of demolition. Dr. Milner managed to save one doorway. which he re-erected at the entrance of the old Roman Catholic chapel in. St. Peters Street; it now stands on the north side of the present church, Mr. Schnebbelie's pictures, two large drawings of the interior of the chapel, from the east and west respectively, together with eight small sketches were engraved and published in 1790 by the Society of Antiquaries, volume three of Vetusta Monumenfa with a description and history of the hospital.'

To solve the multi:

You will need to have a wander round the front and side of the church to find the numbers needed for the final co-ordinates. Also as a final note, these co-ordinates will get you to a few metres from the cache site, from there follow the hint :)

A = How many arch pieces in a single row directly sit over the door of Mary Magdalen on the side of the church.
B = How many old lamposts are in front of the Church.
C = How many Keys are on the front of the Church.
D = How many long, thin windows sit above the front door of the Church.
E = How many letters are there in the first name of the Father next to the front door.
F = How many letters are above the front door.

You will find the cache at:
N (A/3)(B/2) 0C.0((A/3)+B)C
W 00(B/2) (B/2)E.(F-1)(F-B-1)D

Congratulations to Lala_V for first to find!
