Éamon de Buitléar was an Irish writer, film-maker and musician who grew up in Bray. De Buitléar was well known for his work with wildlife, through both his writings and film-making and was a household name in Ireland for over four decades. De Buitléar died in 2013, and in June 2014, the Slí de Buitléar ('De Buitléar Way) was opened in his honour.
Slí de Buitléar is a 4 km nature walk taking you up to Bray Head and beyond the cross before returning back to the starting point at the car park via Vevay Road and Newcourt Road. The walk is waymarked with directional arrows, located at around 20 points along the route.
There is an information board in the car park explaining what plant life and bird species live on Bray Head. It is well worth a read before you start your ascent to the cache.
The Cache
The cache is camouflaged and is located on the trail so please be stealthy if you encounter walkers and rehide it well to prevent muggle discovery! Please note the trailhead waypoint added to indicate which path to take to the cache.
