Hampstead Drive is a private road but you can access the parking area 400 metres along. This is where you can start a five and a half mile circular walk. Forest, farmland, beach and marsh make The Hampstead Trail unique, breathtaking and well worth the hike. Because of the privacy of the area you won't meet many people. This should therefore be a muggle free experience. The footpath is quite good to start with but once passed Hampstead Farm it slopes down towards the beach where parts of it have collapsed. From the beach onwards you skirt around Newtown Creek and it can be quite boggy in places, especially after rain. Look out for an abundance of wildlife. Red squirrels are plentiful. Be aware that during the hunting season you might hear gunshots, so make sure you stay on the public footpaths or very close by.When you complete these caches refreshment is available five minutes away in one direction and 2 minutes away in the other.
