History:
Foggs Lookout (also known as Mount Pinniger Lookout) was named after Thomas Wilkinson Pinniger, a surveyor involved in the Victorian Geodetic Survey completed September 1858. The survey established baselines for future ‘local’ surveys to work from. Thomas Wilkinson Pinniger married Helen Stewart of Habbies Howe 1857 and had seven children. Son, George Pinniger, became Surveyor General of Victoria.
