Before the team WiHö moved from Switzerland to São Miguel they liked to go on mushroom forays during autumn.
Here they missed it first - until they found out, that a lot of these delicious mushrooms are also growing here on the island.
For sure, with this cache they will not show you the place where they find these delicacies!!
Beware, if you are going on mushroom foray - take only the ones you really know! Some of them are poisonous or even deadly!
But let us tell you a story...
Team WiHö decided to go on a mushroom foray with some other persons.
Their names are: Drüü; Null; Ais; Nüün; Sibe and Acht.
They started their trip in a nice forest.
The first one who found a mushroom was Sibe. Team WiHö said to Sibe: "Well done Sibe! This mushroom is edible when young and the internal flesh is completely white, although care must be taken to avoid confusion with immature fruit bodies of poisonous Amanita species. The name comes from lycos meaning wolf and perdon meaning to break wind; thus the name literally means wolf-farts.

The second one who found a mushroom was Nüün. Team WiHö said to Nüün: "Well done Nüün! This large milkcap is generally considered to be a good edible mushroom - mmhh - we are looking forward. When fresh, the mushroom exudes an orange-red latex or "milk" that does not change color.

The third one who found a mushroom was Null. Team WiHö said to Null: "Well done Null! Ui, ui, ui - this one you should let where it is... Commonly known as the fly agaric - it is considered poisonous. But around this mushroom we will find another delicacy."

The forth one who found a mushroom near by the one who Null found was Drüü. Team WiHö said to Drüü: "Well done Drüü! This is a very popular, delicious, meaty mushroom that grows all over the world. It has many names such as king, cep, porcini, steinpilz, penny bun and many others. Delicious - we are looking for dinner !!!"

The fifth one who found a mushroom was Ais. Team WiHö said to Ais: "Well done Ais! What a delicious mushroom!! The gills beneath the cap are white, then pink, then turn black and secrete a black liquid filled with spores (hence the “ink cap” name). This mushroom is unusual because it will turn black and dissolve itself in a matter of hours after being picked or depositing spores. When young it is an excellent edible mushroom provided that it is eaten soon after being collected."
