Il-Madonna tal-Blat - Saint Mary of the Rocks. Traditional Cache

This chapel was built at around 1770 about 0.5km away from another chapel. People of Qala tell the story of a man named Ganni Said from Nadur, who was in caught in distress during a fishing trip, who made a promise to the Immaculate Conception, in return he would build a shrine to commemorate his saving. Another legend says that this chapel faces Comino so that the people of that island could follow Mass from across the straits when rough weather precluded a priest from crossing.

The cache is located near the chapel at the base of the boundary wall. 

Please do not disturb the area and the cache is not in the wall.

One can bring along his children, but be careful as the steep valley wall is close by about 30 meters away.

Breathtaking scenes can be enjoyed from around the chapel and from the small courtyard in front.
