The Location
The first cemetery in Pulaski was on the outskirts of town in 1817, in a field between where interments continued until 1883 when all of the lots were full. Over the years the cemetery fell into disrepair. In 1969, Pulaski began an urban beautification project here to transform the old cemetery into a city park. The overgrowth was cleared out and headstones were located, identified and cleaned. The headstones were then mounted; the smaller ones in curved structures on the ground and the larger ones into a stone wall along the back of the park. A few monument markers that were still standing after the years were left where they were. Finally, landscaping, paved paths and lighting were added. Today, this passive park is a hidden gem in Pulaski and a testimony to the city's grand history.
The Area
This cache is placed in Giles County "The Wild Turkey Capital of Tennessee". While the county is famous for it’s wildlife, it is also home of the Milky Way Farm and Mansion--founded by Mr. Frank Mars, the famous candy maker. The county seat, Pulaski was named an All America City in 1993. "The Land of Milk and Honey." Giles County is an ideal stopover for vacationers who enjoy a progressive community that preserves its cultural heritage.

The Jack Trail GeoTour
The Jack Trail GeoTour is a series of geocaches along the backroads and small towns of Middle Tennessee. There is no fixed itinerary, like on a traditional trail, but rather a series of points of interest in a self-guided, goal-oriented plan. We have created a special passport, which you can download here, which lets you track your progress as you hunt specially placed geocaches along the tour. This passport will help you collect “code words” to qualify for special geocoins for completion of the GeoTour.

Special thanks to Monkeybrad for archiving an existing listing to make this cache possible.
