Geocache Description:

This cache was placed with the permission of Mike Ward, proprietor of the lodge, and with the enthusiasm of the Alaskan Brewing Company co-founders, Geoff and Marcy Larson.  On a trip to the Taku Glacier Lodge to celebrate my 10-year anniversary of employment with the brewery, AKbirder and I were honored to experience a complete Alaskan adventure with a float-plane ride, bear and glacier viewing, glacier-ice-cold beer and the best salmon dinner ever!

The cache is a fairly good-sized water bottle with a log, pen and some local swag. Getting to this cache will require either a boat or plane ride but once you're there it should be easy to find. Be bear-wary but there really shouldn't be too much of a worry if you're there for the feast at the lodge. The bears know when the grill is going so they probably won't care about you! Visitors to the lodge will be served some incredible food and hear  about the history of the lodge and about Mary Joyce, one of the previous owners of the property, who was a truly adventurous Alaskan woman. This cache simply makes it a bonus to be able to have this area so close to home and is well-worth the journey to get there!
