Tygart Lake is a flood control lake. Therefore, it is very common to witness the water increase or decrease as quickly as 18-20 inches an hour. This commonly occurs during the spring time. However, it can happen after any storm or dry period southeast of the lake.
This cache is located near one of the typical high water marks. With your back to the water, you can see lines in the hill side. This is where the water has been during several of the lake's more recent high water events. Just imagine, you and your vehicle would now be under water.
You may need tweezers or a writing utensil to retrieve this log only cache.
Enjoy.
Please do your best to return as found, to allow other cachers an enjoyable search.
Congrats to TroopBiz. First to find.
Thank you.
