Der Cache befindet sich in der alten Kupferschmelze, die bis zur Schließung des Bergwerks in Betrieb war. Il Cache si trova nella vecchia fonderia della miniera di Predoi che era in funzione fino alla chiusura.
Das Bergwerk von Prettau gehört zu den Südtiroler Bergbaumuseen und ist von April bis Oktober für Besucher geöffnet. Der Cache ist aber nicht bloß als Werbung für das Museum gedacht, sondern als Ausgangspunkt für interessante Erkundungstouren. Ich finde es inspirierend durch die alte Ruine der ehemaligen Kupferschmelze zu laufen und der zerfressene Wagon für den Personentransport, der davor steht, hätte wohl so manche Geschichte aus der aktiven Zeit zu erzählen, wenn er reden könnte. Bei einer Einfahrt in den untersten Stollen (Museumsbereich) kann man noch heute frische Bergwerkluft schnuppern, man kann aber auch die alten, teilweise eingestürzten Stollen im oberen, älteren Bereich auf eigene Faust erkunden. Es macht Sinn, das Auto auf dem Parkplatz im oberen Bereich Richtung Schmelze zu parken. Also nicht direkt Museumsbereich, sondern Parkplatzbereich;) - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - La miniera di Predoi fa parte dei musei provinciali delle miniere ed è aperta da aprile fino a ottobre. L'intenzione di questo cache non è solo pubblicitá per il museo, ma può essere il punto di partenza per diverse escursioni avventurose. La rovina della vecchia fonderia è proprio impressionante e il carro di ferro usato per il trasporto dei minatori che è più ruggine che ferro e un testimone di un'epoca di lavoro duro. C'é la possibilitá di visitare la galleria di base con un trenino e la guida che spiega, ma c'è anche la possibiltá di visitare la parte più vecchia e più sù (lungo il sentiero didattico) che contiene gallerie vecchie e di parte crollate. This cache is not there for advertising the museum, but an interesting place to start adventurous hiking tours. It’s very inspiring to walk through the old smeltery where once upon a time ore used to become copper and please also notice the old rusty waggon in the parking area used for transport in the 60s and 70s when the mine was last active. If you decide to book the guided tour you can still visit one of the galleries, but you can also go hiking and see the old entrances up there in the mountain. Either way...if you want to go for the cache, it totally makes sense to park near the old smeltery;)
