Alas, the majestic waterways traversed by the Corps of Discovery are no longer as pristine and unspoiled as when they were first charted by Meriwether Lewis and William Clark.
Come help clean up the Lewis & Clark Paddle Trail on Sunday, August 24, 2014, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
We will pick up trash and branches that are damming up areas of the Rahway River between the Garden State Parkway and St. Georges Ave.
Union County has waived the boating permit fee for purposes of this cleanup, so bring your canoe or kayak and join the flotilla!
If you don't have your own vessel, you can help move bags of trash from the shoreline to where they will be picked up by Union County Maintenance Staff.
Gloves and bags will be provided. Please bring handsaws to cut branches. Chainsaws are not permitted.
This event has been approved by the Union County Department of Parks & Recreation.
