What: Geocaching 101 class
When: Sept. 6, 2014 at 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Bring: Your GPS unit if you own one.
If you would like to learn about geocaching, come to this event. I will be presenting basic information about geocaching. After the classroom session, we will go outside to find some geocaches. Behind the library is the Oakland County's Polly Ann Trail. Along this trail are a number of existing geocaches to find. I may also place a new cache at the library or a temporary or demonstration cache.
If you are going to attend and have any particular question, please post it in your log or send it to me via the "Cyclops" link to the right of "An event cache by". It's just below the name of the cache.
Please bring your GPS unit. I'm asking for seasoned cachers to attend also. One of them will most likely will have some knowledge of your GPS. The library is applying for a grant to buy some "Garmin eTrex 20" GPS. Library patrons will be able to check out one of these units. I will have basic operating information about this GPS available. Here is a link to the PDF version of the manual.
If you plan to attend, please post a "Will Attend" log. Also if you could register with the Orion Township Public Library by calling 248-693-3001 or on the event's registration page. Thank you.
Seasoned cachers are welcome to attend also. I hope several seasoned cachers will attend to help take the new cachers out to find a few caches. Seasoned cachers wouldn't need to arrive until 3:00pm (unless you would like to hear my class LOL).
