Hämeen Lanka (ent. Hämeen Kehräämö) perustettiin vuonna 1949. Tehdas valmisti villalankaa mattotehtaille pääasiassa vientiin. Se oli Padasjoen suurin teollinen työnantaja. Parhaimmillaan tehtaan palveluksessa oli 120 henkilöä. Vuonna 2006 yritys myytiin tanskalaiselle kilpailijalle, joka lopetti tehtaan seuraavana vuonna ja irtisanoi työntekijät. Sen jälkeen tehdas on ollut tyhjillään.
Kätkön läheisyydessä on Ukko-Pekan tie, joka nimellään muistuttaa paikasta, jossa entinen presidentti P.E. Svinhufvud ”Ukko-Pekka” (1861-1944) nuorena ylioppilaana tapasi tulevan puolisonsa Ellen o.s. Timgrenin (1869-1953). Ellen Timgren vietti tuolloin kesälomiaan isoisänsä omistamassa Leponin talossa.

Hämeen Lanka (previously Hämeen Kehräämö) was established in 1949. The factory produced wool yarn for rug production mainly for exports. It was the biggest industrial employer of Padasjoki municipality. At peak the factory employed 120 people. In 2006 the company was acquired by its Danish competitor, which closed the factory in the following year and fired all employees. Since that the factory has been empty.
Near to the cache is Ukko-Pekan tie road, which reminds of the place where former president P.E. Svinhufvud “Ukko-Pekka” (Old Man Pekka) (1861 – 1944) as a young student met his future wife Ellen (nee Timgren) (1869 – 1953). At the time Ellen Timgren was spending her summer holidays at the Leponi mansion owned by her grandfather.
