Il alla donc au teinturier du quartier pour qu’il lui refasse la carrosserie de son canasson.
Le teinturier proposa différentes couleurs mais le prix variait grandement :
Si le BLEU valait 40 pièces d’or
Le ROUGE valait 66 pièces d’or
Le MARRON valait 79 pièces d’or
Le VERT valait 65 pièces d’or
Et le JAUNE valait 51 pièces d’or
Alors le BLANC valait « X » pièces d’or
Le Roi HENRI IV décida donc de teindre son CHEVAL en BLANC d’où l’histoire du CHEVAL BLANC d’HENRI IV.

En fait, HENRI IV n’aima pas vraiment la couleur blanche : trop salissante d’après lui, donc il refit teindre en NOIR son CHEVAL. Combien cela lui a-t-il couté ? (« Y » étant le nombre de pièce d’or que cout la teinture NOIRe).

Originally, King HENRI IV had a CHEVAL NOIR and over time he grew tired of the color.
He went to the neighborhood dyer that he redo the body of his nag.
The dyer proposed different colors but the price varied greatly:
If the BLEU worth 40 gold coins
ROUGE worth 66 gold coins
MARRON worth the 79 gold coins
VERT worth 65 gold coins

So BLANC worth "X" gold coins
King HENRI IV was therefore decided to dye his CHEVAL BLANC in which the history : CHEVAL BLANC’s HENRI IV.
