It's hard to believe it, but this area was once the site of one of the largest breweries in the world. Although this place had been shuttered for nearly 20 years now, much of the architecture and history remains. The cache is located just outside of the old hospitality building, which is seeing a rebirth. Check out the nearby courtyards, where two impressive brewing-related statues make for nice photo ops! Nearby, the old brewhouse had also been reborn; a short walk a block to the northwest and up to the second floor to see it is worth the trip.
The cache itself is a small/micro container, so no room for trade items and BYOP. The cache is accessible from the sidewalk, so there is no need to go inside the wall. The GPS signal can get jumpy here, so a peek at a mapping website ahead of time might be helpful. Permission granted by Jim Haertel, Chief Steward of Historic Best Place.
