Tepat Rīgas pievārtē dažu kilometru attālumā ir divi ciemi ar vienu nosaukumu - "Garkalne". Nedaudz vairāk zināma ir tā, kas pie A1 šosejas. Otra Garkalne ir nost no galvenajām satiksmes plūsmām, un arī dzīves ritms nedaudz cits.
Slēpnim ir trīs posmi, kas izvedīs Jūs pa dažām Garkalnes vietām.
Posms 1 - Centrs: centrālā Garkalnes iela - jaunās mājas, veikals, ceļš uz sporta laukumu un Gauju. Vērtība A: Cik koku aug ceļa saliņā?
Posms 2 - Krogs: vēsturiskā Garkalnes kroga ēka. Pēc vietējo ziņām - vairāk kā 100 gadu veca, ar 90 cm biezām sienām, kas nodrošina vienmērīgu temperatūru visa gada garumā. Vērtība B: Cik skursteņu ir ēkai?

Near Riga there are two villages just a couple of kilometers apart having the same name: "Garkalne". The one at A1 highway is more well-known. The other Garkalne is located off the main transport flows, so the pace of life here is as well sightly different.
Stage 1 - Center: central street of Garkalne - new residential houses, shop, road to sports ground and Gauja. Value A: How many trees grow there in the middle of the road?
Stage 2 - Inn: historical building of Garkalne Inn. According to locals building is over 100 years old and boasts a 90 cm thick wall that help regulate temperature in all seasons. Value B: How many chimneys does the building have?
Stage 3 - Church A small church built on 1848 located on the edge of a forest. More information about history of the church (in Latvian only): garkalnesbaznica.lv. Value C: number of letters in the phrase above the door
