Geocache Description:

Troop 301, Llano, Texas
Cache to Eagle Project
The flag pole and marquee sign were Eagle Scout projects in the 1990’s.  Two brothers chose to honor Fire Fighters everywhere with their projects.  The two projects were done at separate times.

Only a small percentage (between 1 and 4%) of boys who join Boy Scouts attain the highest rank.  In addition to merit badges and leadership requirements, the boy has to complete a service project for the community, putting into practice the Scout promise “to help other people at all times.”   The scout organizes and recruits help, material, and sometimes, funds.  Eagle projects in 2013 included 9.3 million service hours.  By and large, the projects give a community lasting benefits it might not otherwise have.

Traffic whizzes by and probably won’t notice you, but you can be stealthy by parking so as to screen the line of vision from one direction.  Don’t try this during the annual Fish Fry…..
