Geocache Description:

At just above 1500m above sea level, this cache is placed on a mountain top in a popular resort, just over 23kms outside the town which boast a major resort built around a hot spring, just 1.5 hours out of Pretoria.

NOTE: Coordinates have been changed relative to those included in the original description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This cache is stashed at SOUTH 24 degrees, 49 minutes and 24.9 seconds and EAST 28 degrees, 05 minutes and 46.9 seconds! Being in the 4x4 industry, we use GPS's as per the way maps are produced!!! Degrees, Minutes and Seconds - unlike this site. I found my previous cache hunter's problem - I did not convert to the decimal format, I just thought the capture screen was a bit limiting (typical IT guy -we don't read the manuals!) So please make this change on your GPS before going out there - I will change it to the required format in due course, once I switch on my GPS again!) This cache has been placed several meters from the Yebo Gogo tower on top of a hill, which is only accessible via 4x4, in this popular resort. Follow the pictorial clues posted here. The resort has many animals, including hippo, rhino, elephant and many species of buck.

One can camp in their caravan resort, or spend a night or so in luxury in their thatched roof chalets.

Drive to the top. Park at the tower, and search in the direction of a large BOEKENHOUT (Transvaal Beech) tree. Pass the tree and head for a dense Transvaal Milk Plum Bush (Stamvrug) ahead of it. On reaching the bush, and looking ahead, you will see a twee-spoor road on the hill across the valley, and down in the valley. Looking towards the famous hot springs town, you will see a mix of agricultural land (those big round irrigation circles), as well as some tunnel farms. Again, check the photos for clues.

The cache is placed at the base of this bush, under some rocks. Again, it is a white ice cream container (2l) with a club logo on it. It contains a log book (fancy one), pencil, two home made African Greeting cards and 3 club stickers (take one only).

This venue does not allow day visitors, so make a weekend of it. There is much to see and do, and it is a great weekend away venue.

The spot marked x was taken by 2 GPS's - different times, and gave the same reading (bar a second or two!)

Happy searching and 4x4-ing!
