The Erie Bayfront Promenade is a beautiful paved pathway for use by the people of Erie and its visitors. The Promenade pathway is about a mile long from end to end. The Promenade begins near the corner of the Bayfront Highway and State street and meanders west along the bluff. The bluff height averages approximately 55 feet above the Bayfront Highway and the views of the bay are breath taking. There are 13 strategically located seating areas where walkers can stop for resting and reading about the waterfront's history. The walk is kid pet friendly.
I set up these caches to be done together in a nice easy walk from one end of the promenade to the other. However, each and every one can be done individually with nearby parking areas. This is NOT a power trail. The caches were purposely placed in areas to show the best possible views in lieu of just pounding out numbers. There are may benches and picnic tables all along the route to rest or enjoy a little picnic. There is even a really great park for the kids to play.
There is parking currently available between Plum and Poplar along the street, at the foot of Cherry next to Bayview Baseball Field. There is parallel parking along other parts of Front Street and at the foot of Peach Street behind 100 State Street.
The cache is NOT at the listed coordinates!
"A picture is worth a thousand words." Here is your chance to prove it!
There are TWO ways to find this cache:
1. Find and decipher the coordinates hidden on this page or............
2. The more fun option would be to figure out exactly where I was standing when I snapped this photo!
I was standing inches away from the cache when I snapped the photo. Look at the photo closely... I left plenty of clues to line yourself up easily. The hide itself will be a pretty easy find. (Once you are standing in the proper spot!) I was in a standing position and I did NOT use any zoom settings on the camera. What you see in the picture should be pretty close to what you will see at GZ.
Please park at one of the suggested locations. Walk along the Bayfront Promenade and navigate to the Reference Point Coordinates. The given Reference Point is a perfect place to begin lining yourself up with the provided photo.
Terrain rating is good. No brush or heavy terrain. Nice easy, flat open walk.
The area is very busy! Please use stealth when attempting the cache. Please respect the area.
Don't forget YOUR camera!!

A view from the cache!
