Don't Look Down - Thirsty? Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

sao_9: Decided to make the decision to archive this cache. I'm no longer in a position where I can climb the tree and maintain the cache as it should be. I visited today and could not see cache in position. Thank you for all those who have found this cache in the past and the kind comments which have been left. If anyone would like to put another cache in this location, I'd be happy to explain the process of hiding in this location. Happy caching.

Geocache Description:

A 40ft tree climb to claim the cache.

YOU ATTEMPT THIS CACHE AT YOUR OWN RISK. PROPER TREE CLIMBING EQUIPMENT IS ADVISED!

After a fantastic Bank Holiday weekend of caching I've decided to round it off by placing a cache.  This cache was partly inspired by one of the caches we attempted whilst near the Kent Mega 2014.  However it requires a slightly longer and trickier tree climb.  To claim the cache you must sign the log!  Tree climbing was a favourite past time of mine and so I hope to 'root' out some more fun trees to climb.

The co-ords are shared for parking.  There you will see a large tree.  To find the cache simply climb up approximately 40 feet.  Stick to the main central column. Just keep going up until you spot it on the opposite side of the tree to the road. When you reach the cache the lid is attached to the tree so you just need to unscrew and then take out the smaller cache inside.  You must sign the log to claim this one.

Please be careful when climbing. Do not attempt in high wind and it is advised not to attempt this cache alone. It is recommended that you use proper tree climbing equipment although I placed the cache free climbing. Please replace the cache as found.  It maybe useful to take a bag or deep pockets so you don't drop any of the bits which make up the cache. The background image shows me pointing to where the cache is.

The cache is inside a bottle which has it's lid attached to the tree with wire and cable ties.  There is a pen in the bottle. Hold on tight when you sign the log! And don't drop anything!

The cache has been placed with the kind permission of Queen Elizabeth Country Park and the Forestry Commission.
