O ESCUTISMO
Escutismo ou escotismo, fundado por Lord Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell, em 1907, é um movimento mundial, educacional, voluntariado, apartidário, sem fins lucrativos. A sua proposta é o desenvolvimento do jovem, por meio de um sistema de valores que prioriza a honra, baseado na Promessa e na Lei Escuta, e através da prática do trabalho em equipe e da vida ao ar livre, fazer com que o jovem assuma seu próprio crescimento, tornar-se um exemplo de fraternidade, lealdade, altruísmo, responsabilidade, respeito e disciplina.
ESCUTISMO MARÍTIMO
O Escutismo Marítimo é um ramo do Corpo Nacional de Escutas – Escutismo Católico Português, que tem por objetivo a educação integral de crianças e jovens, privilegiando: o contato com a natureza, a vida em pequenos grupos, o “aprender fazendo”, o jogo social espontâneo,…, através de, mas não só, atividades náuticas (vela, canoagem, mergulho,…).
PARQUE ESCUTISTA DE LAGOS – ÁGUA DÁLTO
Na proximidade do tanque albufeira do pico da Praia, o Núcleo de São Miguel do Corpo Nacional de Escutas (Escutismo Católico Português-Região Açores) criou o Parque Escutista de Lagos, vocacionado para o desenvolvimento de atividades lúdicas e formativas. Este espaço, onde se projetava instalar uma lixeira, foi doado pela Câmara Municipal ao Agrupamento 436 de Vila Franca do Campo, em 1984.
O Parque Escutista foi palco de acampamentos do Núcleo (ACANUC), em 1985, 1995, 2000 e 2006, de atividades destinadas aos Lobitos (LOBICIRCO, 1991), de um Acampamento Regional de Alcateias (ACARAL, 2003) e de dois Jamborees Açorianos (VIII, 1988 e XII, 2009), iniciativas que mobilizaram muitas centenas de jovens.
Por ocasião do XII Jamboree Açoriano, o Parque foi objeto de vários melhoramentos por parte da Câmara Municipal de Vila Franca do campo, reorganizando-se o espaço de acampamento e construindo-se um edifício de apoio.

SCOUTS
Scouting or Boy Scouts, founded by Lord Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell in 1907, is a global, educational, voluntary, non-partisan movement, nonprofit. Your proposal is the development of youth, through a value system that prioritizes honor, based on the Scout Promises and Laws, and through the practice of teamwork and outdoor living, making the young assume their own growth, becoming an example of brotherhood, loyalty, altruism, responsibility, respect and discipline.
SEASCOUTS
Sea Scouting is a branch of the National Corps of Scouts - Scouting Catholic Portuguese, who aims to educate children and the general youth, focusing on: the contact with nature, life in small groups, the "learning by doing", the spontaneous socialgame , ... through, but not limited to water activities (sailing, kayaking, diving, ...).
LAGOS SCOUT CAMPING PARK
Near the reservoir tank of Pico da Praia, the "núcleo" of São Miguel National Corps of Scouts (Scouting Catholic-Portuguese Azores Region) created the Lagos Scout Park, designed for the development of recreational and educational activities. This space, which jutted install a dumpster, was donated by the Municipality to 436 Grouping of Vila Franca do Campo, in 1984.
The park was the scene of Scout camps Core (ACANUC) in 1985, 1995, 2000 and 2006, activities aimed at cupscouts (LOBICIRCO, 1991), a Regional Camp packs (ACARAL, 2003) and two Azorean Jamborees (VIII, 1988, XII, 2009), many initiatives that mobilized hundreds of young people.
At the XII Azorean Jamboree, the Park was the subject of many improvements by the Municipality of Vila Franca do Campo, reorganizing the camping space and building up a building support.
