The cache is near the old site of the St. Nicholas chapel and burial grounds. It is marked on Ordnance Survey maps of 1860 and was known as Cabbal Niglus. It would have existed somewhere between the 6th and the 11th Centuries. No formal excavations have been attempted largely due to the sensitivity of the burial area. There was also a sacred well but this was filled in long ago.
The Cache is just over 1.5 Nautical Miles due North of Ballannette Series: Laxey View GC513RT but we'll try to be a little more helpful as we don't expect you to swim; using a map would be easier.
Travel 2.8792 km or 1.789052 miles due North of GC513RT and you will find yourself within sight of the cache.
Many thanks to the Ballannette Trust for granting permission to place the cache.
Please note: The cache is within 1 metre of the roadway and there is no need to climb.
