poeanne: Thanks everyone for a great turn out and for the even better feedback on the trail. We have all been blessed by the enthusiasm for the trail which you have clearly shown to us in your participation, your fav points, and your comments. Please continue to tell all of your friends about the trail, continue to drop those fav points and smilies and let's keep this trail alive for Georgia.

If you claimed a trackable at the event, I encourage you to move it along so that it doesn't get stranded here.

Geocache Description:


Join us for the Jackson County Heritage Trail kickoff event. The Jackson County Heritage Trail is sponsored by the tourism committee of the Chamber of Commerce. Thirty sites across all 9 municipalities as well as in the unincorporated area have been chosen to highlight the history of Jackson County. There will be various types of geocaches, most made and donated by master cachers from the area.

The event officially kicks off at 9:00 am June 28, 2014 and ends at 10:00 am. There will be breakfast food, coffee and juice available as we gather and catch up with old friends and meet new ones. Door prizes will be given out and a table will be available to drop travel bugs.

Following the meet and greet, cachers will receive passports and the cache coordinates and the challenge will begin. The first 100 people who complete their passport will receive a beautiful trackable commemorative geocoin.
