FR : En 1810, la municipalité de Jean-Baptiste Edouard lance un projet de construction de cinq lavoirs aux portes de la ville : Saint-Nicolas, Bretonnière, Madeleine, Saint-Martin et Saint-Jean près du château. L’architecte-voyer Jacques Guichard en a la charge.
L’adjudication des travaux a lieu le 8 septembre 1911 et est confiée à l’entrepreneur Pierre Champenois. Le lavoir se situe dans les fossés près de la porte Saint-Martin. En 1844, il apparaît que les lavoirs de Beaune nécessitent une reconstruction complète car la plupart d’entre eux sont submergés en cas de grande crue. Le projet d’un lavoir couvert pour Saint-Martin voit alors le jour, validé par la décision prise lors de la séance du conseil municipal du 19 juillet 1845. L’adjudication a lieu le 10 septembre 1845 et les travaux sont attribués à l’entrepreneur Bourgoin-Jomain. La réception définitive est signée le 26 octobre 1847. Il n’en reste pas de trace apparente aujourd’hui.
Durant la seconde moitié du XIXe siècle, la construction d’un nouveau lavoir est prévue dans le quartier, rue du faubourg Saint-Martin, dit le lavoir du Foulot. Le 23 mars 1885, le conseil municipal valide ce projet. Un an plus tard, les travaux sont attribués aux entrepreneurs et s’achèvent le 20 janvier 1888. Ce lavoir est toujours présent dans le faubourg Saint-Martin, à proximité du parc de la Bouzaize.

During the second half of the nineteenth century, the construction of a new laundry area is provided in the Rue du Faubourg Saint- Martin, says the washhouse Foulot . March 23, 1885, the council validates this project. A year later , the work is awarded to contractors and end January 20, 1888 . This wash is still present in the Faubourg Saint- Martin , near the park Bouzaize.
