The cache is a 2 litre ice cream container with the 4x4 trail's
sticker and our club stickers on it, as well as the club's web site
and the geocaching.com web sites address. The container contains a
log book, a pencil (plse someone take a sharpener for the cache), 2
toy 4x4's, 2 african style greeting cards and 5 club stickers. Will
the person who finds it replace the toys and cards with whatever,
but only take 1 sticker!
The container is hidden below a pile of rocks to protect it from
weather and wild animals (baboons especially). The hunter will have
to scramble up 'one of the big 5' hills (clue)and search for the
cache on top. The view from the top is stunning and overlooks the
area which is said to be created when Thor dropped his hammer from
the heavens.
This cache is unfortunately on private land (4x4 trail), so
there is an entry fee involved. There is camping facilities with
hot water, showers and ablutions. However it is in the bush.
Our 4x4 club is hoping that this will be the first of many that
we start hiding, and hope that other 4x4 enthusiasts will follow
suite.
Photos to follow this week.
Happy searching and 4x4-ing!
