I saw the Five Guys Named Moe in the pub again today. Well four of them - Four-Eyed Moe was missing, but the others were all there, up at the bar.
While I was waiting to be served, Little Moe took a phone call from Four-Eyed Moe, and I couldn't help but overhear some of their conversation! It seems that Little Moe and the others were just back from hiding a new cache, and Four-Eyed Moe needed the coordinates to get it published. Little Moe said he'd leave them in the pub for Four-Eyed Moe to collect later. Unfortunately, I didn't catch any more.
About half an hour later they left. As he made his way out, I saw Little Moe slip a newspaper back into the rack by the bar. Well, I couldn't resist, could I? I went through the paper from the first page to the last; the only thing I found was some sort of coded message at the top of the puzzle page.
The Puzzle Page
I haven't been able to crack it, but I'm sure it will lead us to the cache...
Congratulations on the FTF to =Andy_R.
Puzzle solving hint #2 (more)
Images that have been uploaded to Geocaching.com are automatically reduced in size (to conserve bandwidth) when they are displayed on the cache page. In some puzzles (e.g. for steganography), the original image might contain information missing in the re-sized copy. In other cases (such as here) the smaller image may just lack clarity.
To see the original, full-size image:
- Display the reduced size version (e.g. click on 'The Puzzle Page', below). The url will be something like https://s3.amazonaws.com/gs-geo-images/1ab19f94-dc95-473d-84ae-152e2035782e_l.jpg.
- Remove the "_l" from the end of the filename, redisplay, et voila!
