With varied terrain and elevation from a network of narrow muddy tracks in mature woodland to a paved road through flat grassland. The highest point commands a view overlooking Burton upon Trent and the Trent Valley. The site is steep in places and can be hard going, and includes a series of banks and gullies - believed to be medieval or even earlier in origin.
The route will take you close to a motoX track, so if you can hear the glorious sound of motorcycles hurtling up and down a very steep hill, why not pop and have a look.
If you park at the pub, you can walk back to your car down a private road, which is a permissive route and part of the National Cycle Network.
The trail starts a few hundred yards from the pub, just off Shobnall Road and takes you up past Sinai House.
Take the footpath to the left of the gate, do not take the road up to the house.
